Factory268 — About me
I started using Revit for work, like most people. Then, almost without realizing it, I began spending hours in the Family Editor — not because I had to, but because I was curious about how things worked from the inside.
I'm Umberto, a hydraulic civil engineer. Factory268 is the project that grew around that curiosity.
What I do
I create Revit Families. Parametric components ready to be loaded into a project and forgotten — in the best sense: they do their job without causing issues, without bloating the model, without surprises.
Over the past four years I've modeled over 1,000 families, including custom libraries for private clients, international commissions, and products published on the Marketplace. Factory268 is the space I built to bring all of this together in one place.
How I work
Every family starts from a concrete question: how does it behave in plan, in elevation, in a detailed view? What happens when a parameter is pushed beyond the intended dimensions? Does the model hold up?
I don't publish anything I haven't tested. Each product includes a showroom file to verify its behavior before using it in a real project.
Why factory268
The number 268 has no hidden meaning to decode. It's a personal reference — the kind of detail that only makes sense to those who lived it, and for that reason doesn't need to be explained to everyone.
The name "factory," says exactly what happens here: a process, a logic, a measurable output. Not a portfolio of pretty images. A workshop that produces tools that work.
The blog
On factory268.com, I also publish technical articles — the column is called Inside the Files. The idea is simple: open the files and explain the choices behind them. Why a parameter is Type and not Instance. Why geometry is the last step, not the first. Things that people who work with Revit every day wonder about, but rarely find explained clearly.
If you are a professional who uses Revit and you're looking for components you can rely on, you're in the right place.
If you have a specific project in mind, write to me — I also work on commission.
