Find answers to the most common questions about my Revit families

🔧 Which versions of Revit are the families compatible with? The families are compatible with Autodesk Revit 2020 and later versions, in both Metric and Imperial format.

📦 What does the download include? After order confirmation you'll receive an email with the download link for:

  • A .rfa file in Metric (cm) and Imperial (feet/inches) format
  • A showroom .rvt file with preset views to test the families
  • Commercial license included

Exception: Detail Item packs include only the Metric (mm) format, as the Imperial format does not apply to this category.

📥 How does the download work after purchase? Every order is manually reviewed before fulfillment to ensure transaction security. Once the payment is confirmed, you will receive an email with the link to download your files. Delivery times are generally within 24 business hours from purchase, but may vary depending on the time of the order.
Please note that the amount will be definitively charged only upon order confirmation, not immediately at checkout.

🔄 Are products updated after purchase? Yes. I update published families over time — fixes, improvements, new parameters. Anyone who has already purchased a pack receives updates at no extra cost, via the original download link.

✏️ Can I edit the families? Yes. Parametric families are fully editable. You can modify dimensions, materials, finishes and openings via instance parameters, without entering the family editor.

💼 Can I use the files in projects for my clients? Yes. The included commercial license allows you to use and modify the files in any professional project, without restrictions. The only thing not permitted: reselling or redistributing the original files to third parties.

🛠️ Can I request a custom family? Yes. If you need a specific family that you can't find in the catalog, you can commission it. Visit the dedicated page and describe your idea — I'll get back to you with an assessment.

🔧 I found an error in a family — how do I report it? Send me the details via the contact form, including:

  • Product name
  • Revit version used
  • Description of the error

I fix every report as quickly as possible and send you the updated version.

↩️ Is a refund available? Digital products are non-refundable once downloaded. If you encounter a technical issue with a file, report it via the contact form — I'll fix it and send you the corrected version.

👤 Do I need an account to purchase? No. You can complete your purchase as a guest, without creating an account. However, creating an account lets you access your order history and download links at any time.

👥 Do you offer discounts for students? Yes. Individual students can request a personalized discount by contacting Factory268 directly and showing a valid university/technical institute ID card for verification. The discount is 20% off the entire catalog, provided as a personal code usable up to 3 times, not cumulable with other discount codes.

🏫 Do you offer discounts for schools or training centers buying for a group of students? Yes. Teachers, training centers, or institutions can request an Institute License for group educational use, at a discount typically in the 28-30% range, agreed case by case. This is a separate arrangement from the standard license: it covers use by an agreed number of students within the institution or course, for educational purposes only — it is not resellable and not valid for external commercial use.

📃 How is the Institute License different from the standard single-user license? The standard Factory268 license (included with every catalog purchase) is single-user and covers professional use in real projects. The Institute License is a separate arrangement, agreed case by case, that extends usage to a defined group of students within an institution for coursework and educational purposes — it does not grant commercial usage rights beyond the classroom/course context.

📨 How do I request a student or Institute License discount? Get in touch via info@factory268.com or the Factory268 LinkedIn page. Both student and group requests are handled manually and reviewed case by case — there is no public discount code for students or groups.

🪪 Will my ID or personal information be used for anything beyond verifying my discount? No. Information shared to verify student or group status is used only for that purpose. Subscribing to marketing communications (newsletter, promotions) is entirely optional and separate — you choose whether to opt in.

📋 Is the single-user license the only license option available? For standard catalog purchases, yes. An exception applies to institutional group purchases for educational use — see the Institute License FAQ for details.
